"Te au e kawea te waka”

“The current that carries the waka"

The meaning of AU

'Au' in te ao Māori describes the various states, positions, and movements in the realm of Tangaroa. These include water, tides, currents, waves, and the ocean. In special occasions of Māori oratory, 'au' is often spoken to articulate how currents and tides guide people on important and valuable journeys of discovery.

Our symbol reflects the face of a manaia. A spiritual kaitiaki (guardian) with the head of a bird, the body of man, and tail of a fish representing the sky, the earth, and water. We believe our role is to ensure our clients a safe tide on their learning journey.
